AIA/Sparling/BergerABAM
Danielle Henderson has joined AIA Seattle, a Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, as the organization’s new Program Associate. Henderson’s primary role will be to manage the Chapter’s office operations, including registration, website management on behalf of the 2,000-member organization, as well as managing the Chapter’s public gallery, which features up to six exhibitions a year. Henderson has a background in communications, nonprofit program management and writing about design and architecture.
Sparling has named its newest outside board member, Jim Ladd, Partner of Tatum, LLC. Ladd has over 10 years of Board of Director experience on private and public boards. Ladd is currently vice-chair on the board of directors for both Seattle Children’s and Washington Society of CPAs, and a partner at Tatum, LLC. In his 40 year career, he has specialized in transition management, turnaround management, leadership and business ethics and has served as Managing Partner for Deloitte & Touche, CPA, Seattle and Tokyo offices, CEO of EnCompass Globalization and CFO for BSQUARE Corporation, among others.
Sparling has also announced that Karl Pihl, associate, has been promoted to Director of Technology Consulting. Pihl has been a project manager and designer for Sparling’s electrical practice for over nine years. He has designed and/or managed projects such as the Seattle Federal Courthouse, Marion Oliver McCaw Hall, Edmonds Performing Arts Center, Southwest Washington Medical Center-Vancouver, Swedish Medical Center projects and Mt. Baker Performing Arts Center.
Dee Gilmore has joined BergerABAM as construction inspector. Gilmore’s experience includes project design, including specification writing; plans and specification review; developing cost estimates for contract preparation and change orders; road, bridge, and structures inspection; supervision of groups of inspectors; negotiations with contractors and various project stakeholders; management of project documentation for the various items of work; and construction site erosion and spill control. Currently, she is working on BergerABAM’s Northeast 36th Street Bridge for the City of Redmond and the Lincoln Avenue grade separation for the Port of Tacoma.
Bob Lee has joined BergerABAM as construction specialist. Lee’s 30 years of experience includes large bridge construction and replacement projects and large multidiscipline projects for the public sector. Lee will be part of the public works and transportation group at BergerABAM and will focus on bridge construction, bridge replacement, and various transportation projects, including King County’s Tolt Bridge No. 1834, No. 404B replacement and the Edgewick Bridge replacement.
