Bremerton-based engineering firm Art Anderson Associates has hired Robert Hoyer, P.E., as a project manager. Hoyer received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington, and served 40 years as an engineer and project manager for the federal government, including positions at Naval Submarine Base, Bangor, and the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.

Otak in Lake Oswego has added the past president of the American Planning Association, David Seigel, to its planning team. With over 30 years experience as a professional planner, Siegel served as APA president in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, leading the organizations outreach efforts and playing a key role in coordinating planning efforts for the rebuilding and reconstruction of New Orleans neighborhoods. He has also been involved in a number of planning projects in Northwest communities and played a key role in the establishment of the Oregon Visions Project. Northwest Mechanical Engineering in Spokane has announced two new hires Jon Wilcox,EIT has joined the firm as a mechanical engineer. Wilcox earned his Bachelors degree at the University of Washington, and previously worked for Siemens Building Technology. He is currently working on Edison Elementary, North Idaho College, Alpine Dental, and the Jameson Hotel. Jim Rogers,EIT, received his mechanical Engineering degree from Washington State University. He is currently providing mechanical systems design for Liberty Lake Community Church, Physician’s Lab Clinic, and the University of Idaho steam pipe replacement project. Lease Crutcher Lewis has hired Carey Smith as Director of Marketing, based in the firm’s Seattle office. Smith has a B.A. in English from Princeton and an MBA with a marketing concentration from Stanford. She has previously held executive-level marketing positions at General Mills and Verizon.

Clark/Kjos Architects of Seattle has added Cynthia Johnson to their interior design team. Johnson has over fifteen years of experience in conceptual design, space planning, and programming for health care and corporate interiors. Since joining Clark/Kjos, she has worked on projects for Swedish Medical Center, Northwest Kidney Center, and Group Health Cooperative. Jenny Richmond, ASLA, LEED AP, has joined Portland-based Group Mackenzie as a senior landscape architect. A graduate of Iowa State University, Richmond has more than eight years of experience in master planning, design and implementation of park, recreation, and trail amenities, higher education and corporate campus work, and public facilities including streetscape improvements. Richmond was also recently elected president of the Oregon Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects, where she will direct the biennial awards program, professional development events, and student outreach activities. At Group Mackenzie, she is currently involved in a number of projects, including Thatcher Park and Forest Glen Park in Forest Glen, the Concordia University Athletic Fields, and the Parks and Recreation Master Plan for the City of Woodburn.

Berger/Abam Engineers in Federal Way, Wash. has announced two new hires. Robert Bean, PE, who joins the company’s branch office in Seattle, has fifteen years of experience with transportation, site civil, and municipality projects. He received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the Oregon Institute of Technology and was a project engineer for the City of Kirkland and the WSDOT. He is currently working on Purdy Creek Bridge, a raised roadway and bridge replacement project in Mason County. Jose Suazo,EIT, has also joined the company’s Seattle office. A graduate in civil engineering at Walla Walla College, he has provided design services for major development projects, including transportation, resurfacing, and roadway widening, and is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the American Public Works Association. He is currently working on the I-5/SR 161/SR 18 Triangle Improvements Interchange Project in Federal Way.
