W & H/Gray Purcell/KPFF/ZGF/Kiewit

Rick Martin, of KPFF in Portland, was honored as the Engineer of the Year by the ASCE Oregon Section.

W&H Pacific announced that Rick Martin was awarded the 2006 Engineer of the Year Award from the American Society of Civil Engineers, (ASCE) Oregon Section.  Martin, who has been with W&H Pacific since 1989, joined the Spokane office in July 2006 as the director of land development.  He also leads and manages technical staff in the Spokane office across the firms’ business lines (Surveying, Land Development, and Transportation).

Gray Purcell, Inc., a Portland-based commercial general contractor, announced the promotion of Jason L. Booth from superintendent to project manager. Booth has 19 years of experience in the construction industry. Booth is currently overseeing construction of the Hollywood Park Condominiums, a 5-story mixed-use project in N.E. Portland.

Brian Vanderburg has joined KPFF Consulting Engineers’ Civil Group as project manager. With 18 years of experience focusing on underground utilities and site development, he is currently working on the Woodland Park Zoo Garage, Edmonds Commuter Rail Station, Bremerton Beach Sewer, and Sound Transit North Link Project.

Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Architects LLP (ZGF), announced the addition of four new employees to the Seattle office:  Tony Delles, Howard Liu, Michael Steinberg, and Sarah Cawthra.

Delles CDT, LEED, AP, brings over 18 years of experience to the Seattle office where he is working with the Providence Everett Medical Center team. Liu is currently working on Epic Systems Corporation, the Washington Athletic Club, and the 1001 Fourth Avenue Plaza. Steinberg has joined the architecture group and is working with the Providence Everett Medical Center team. Cawthra has joined the Seattle administrative staff. 

The firm also added Criss Fournier as Senior Designer and Associate.

Kiewit Building Group recently announced the formation of a Special Projects Group, focusing on commercial building projects for private clients in health care, developers, building owners, universities, hospitality and tourism markets. Kevin Welker, KBG senior vice president, has appointed Joe Hotko as the project manager. Hotko has been with Kiewit since 1997, and has more than 13 years of direct construction experience.

Lease Crutcher Lewis, a regional general contractor, has hired four.  All are located in Seattle or at local jobsites. 

Lee Lei, Tim Callahan and Mark Kamin all joined the commercial division as project engineers,  Sophia Santini has joined the Special Projects Division as operations assistant.  She has been in construction since 2004 and is studying business at South Seattle Community College.
