Group Mackenzie, with offices in Portland and Seattle hired
Terry A. Krause, AIA, NCARB.
BBT Architects of Bend, Ore., announced the promotion of
Donald Tompos and Maureen
McClelland to the position of associate. Tompos is
a graduate of the University of Cincinnati and received his
Oregon professional registration in 1983.
McClelland is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University receiving
her Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1995 and her Oregon
professional registration in 2004.
Magnusson
Klemencic Associates (MKA), a civil and structural engineering
firm headquartered in Seattle, has announced its 2006 senior
position promotions.
Derek Beaman, leader of MKA's
Convention Center Specialist Group, David
Eckmann, manager of Midwest projects and Brian
Pavlovec were all promoted to vice president.
Steven Haluschak and Peter
Somers were promoted to Senior Associate.
Interface Engineering, a mechanical and electrical consulting
engineering firm, has promoted Melissa
Crosman to marketing manager. Working with both clients
and staff, Crosman will manage the day-to-day marketing operations
of Interface Engineering's corporate Portland office, and
will oversee the marketing efforts of the firm's offices in
Seattle, Salem and Sacramento. The firm has also recently
hired a senior electrical engineer, Rebecca
Ellsworth, PE. She is one of the few licensed female
electrical engineers in Portland. The firm also hired Doug
Smith, PE, MBA, LEED AP, NaSBA (National Sustainable
Building Advisor) and named him an Associate with the firm.
Smith will be based in the firm's Seattle Office located in
Kirkland, Washington.
Several promotions are now effective at W.G. Clark Construction.
Howie Kellogg, senior project
manager, has been promoted to vice president. Danielle
Finseth and Jason Preuit have
been promoted from project engineers to project managers.
Bruce Hopkins has been promoted
from foreman to superintendent, and Kurt
Robinson was recently added to the staff as a project
engineer.
The American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of Washington
selected Jared Smith, P.E. as
the 2006 "Engineer of the Year" at its annual Engineering
Excellence awards banquet held on January 20.
Smith, vice president and area manager of the Seattle office
of Parsons Brinckerhoff (PB), has more than 20 years experience
as a professional civil engineer and transportation planner,
and has managed all aspects of transportation design projects,
including transit corridor studies, arterial and highway design
projects. A in an endorsement statement in support of Smith's
nomination as Engineer of the Year, Joni Earl, Sound Transit
executive director, praised Smith for his "engineering
knowledge to articulate and balance technical and political
issues."
