Tom Goett has been promoted
to project manager for PCL Seattle.
Goett joined PCL in June 2005 as a project engineer on the
Bellevue Community College Building D Renovation and Addition
project. He has been in the construction industry for nineteen
years with ten years experience in the field as laborer and
labor foreman and nine years experience in construction administration.
Interface Engineering, a mechanical and electrical consulting
engineering firm in Portland, has promoted controller and
associate principal Beverly Markstrom
to principal/partner. She becomes one of the few female principals
of an engineering firm in Portland. Markstrom becomes one
of eleven principals at Interface. Before joining the firm
in July 2000, Markstrom was controller at Land Tech, Inc.,
a Portland civil engineering firm.
Anne Whitacre is now a fellow
of CSI, because of her service to the Institute and the profession.
HDR's Portland office has hired four new staff members,
and another staff member has relocated to the Portland office
from Seattle.
Wade E. Hatthorn relocated
to Portland as the assistant department manager, with responsibilities
for operations in both Portland and Seattle. Prior to the
transfer, he was responsible for HDR's Washington operations.
New hires include: Jeanne LeJeune,
water marketing manager for Oregon and Southwest Washington;
Don Owings, P.E., senior project
manager; Deborah Redman, senior
planner/project manager; and Richard
Steinbrugge, P.E., senior project manager.
Walker Macy has expanded the
firm's expertise by adding landscape designer
Noel Lau to its team. After graduating from the University
of Oregon Landscape Architecture program, Lau has worked for
nearly six years on a variety of resort, mixed-use, retail,
residential and commercial development projects. Along with
his passion for well-designed sustainable spaces, Lau is also
an artist, serving as a muralist and sign painter for McMenamins.
Otak Inc., a planning, architecture, design and engineering
firm, announced is has named one new principal and promoted
16 other professionals to senior associate or associate.
Greg Mona, who was promoted
to principal, has 27 years of experience as a civil engineer,
the last 20 of which have been in management positions.
Otak also promoted six professionals to senior associate
and 10 to associate. The new senior associates are Kay
Van Sickel (Lake Oswego), Tonya
Finley (Lake Oswego), Sinan
Gumusoglu (Lake Oswego), John
McCarty (Carbondale) and Julie
Morales (Lake Oswego). Otak's new Associates are Gwynne

Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Partnership, Portland, announced that
Anne Whitacre has been named
a Fellow by the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI).
Fellowship is among the top honors granted by CSI.
Fellows are nominated by colleagues for notable contributions
to the commercial building and design industry including the
advancement of construction technology, improvement of construction
specifications, education of peers, and service to the Institute.
The CSI Jury of Fellows is responsible for final selections.
As the specifications writer for ZGF's Seattle office, Whitacre
is one of 8 people in the Seattle metropolitan area ever to
receive this honor.
