Bellevue, Wash. architecture firm MulvannyG2 recently welcomed
Michael Osburn as design manager;
Robert Jaques and Y.E.
Smith as design principals; and Michael
La Fon as designer.
With 31 years' experience, Osburn has full responsibility
for leading the firm's design teams. During the course of
his career, Osburn has received eight major design awards
for projects under his responsibility. As design manager,
his responsibilities include developing and leading the firm's
strategic design direction.
With 27 years' experience, Jacques joins MulvannyG2 as a
design principal with the corporate studio. Jacques is responsible
for design, master planning, client management, and business
development, as well as directing projects from design feasibility
through contract documents.
Smith brings 18 years of experience in architecture to MulvannyG2
and is responsible for conceptual, schematic and design development,
master planning, client management, and business development.
Smith's expertise encompasses establishing new retail and
mixed-use markets that are sensitive to the unique relationship
of nature-made and man-made environments.
La Fon joins MulvannyG2's corporate studio as a designer
and is involved with schematic design, design development,
project analysis, computer/multimedia models, 3-D models,
graphic materials, zoning analysis, and project management.

Joel Rohrs has joined Rushforth
Construction in Tacoma, Wash., as a project manager, bringing
12 years of construction experience. He is a graduate of the
University of Washington, holding a Bachelor's degree in Urban
Design and Planning. Rohrs is currently project manager for
the Salem Conference Center and Parking Structure and the
Phoenix Inn Grand Hotel in Salem, Ore.

Three local veteran engineers recently formed The Blueline
Group, a civil engineering and land development firm based
in Kirkland, Wash. Founded by professional engineers Brian
J. Darrow, Todd A. Oberg,
and Geoff E. Tamble, The Blueline
Group will work with private land developers primarily located
in the western United States. Services include civil engineering
and land development consulting a variety of projects with
emphasis on single-family residential, multi-family residential
and commercial projects.
David Howell, Washington state
district manager of Tradesmen International, has been elected
as the 2003-2004 chairman of the board of directors of Associated
Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Western Washington (Bellevue,
Wash.).

National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Puget
Sound chapter announces the new chapter officers for 2003-2004.

Candela Architectural Lighting Consultants of Seattle recently
added Ben Kuritz as a lighting
designer.
Kuritz completed lighting design for library, commercial,
education, and museum projects as an intern with George Saxton
Associates in Washington, DC prior to joining Candela. He
is a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North
America (IESNA) and Designers Lighting Forum (DLF), and a
recent graduate of University of Colorado's architectural
engineering program.

Emick Howard & Seibert, Inc., a full-service architecture,
interior design, and strategic facility planning firm in Seattle,
recently announced the following additions to staff: Dean
Longwell, senior project manager; John
Hibbard, project manager; Iren
Fang; and Valerie Robbins.
A 21-year veteran, Longwell's experience as a project manager
and designer includes commercial, retail, laboratory, multi-family
housing, recreational, and public works.
Hibbard's 14 years of experience includes work with software,
telecommunications, and engineering industries doing design,
space planning, and project management. He has also been responsible
for planning and building analysis for over 600,000 square
feet of corporate office, retail, and medical spaces.
Iren Fang has more than 12 years of experience with architecture,
construction management, and contract administration in the
states of Washington and Florida. He has worked on residential,
retail, educational, and government projects.
Robbins background includes design and production of restaurant
prototypes, interior renovations, corporate office interiors,
and significant experience with assisted living facilities.

Seattle electrical engineering and technology consulting
firm Sparling recently added Maureen
Jackson, P.E., Lindsey Gilmore
and Robert Johnson to electrical
design studios that specialize in commercial, retail, industrial,
and health care projects.
As a project manager for commercial and retail projects,
Jackson's experience includes design of power, lighting, fire
alarm, voice/data, intercom, and security systems. Current
Sparling projects include the Health and Wellness Center for
the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe in Auburn, Wash., Heart Center
addition at St. Charles Medical Center in Bend, Ore., and
500 Mercer and 428 Westlake mixed-use projects, both in Seattle.
Gilmore is a graduate of Purdue University and completed
electrical design for biomedical/pharmaceutical and other
projects as an intern with Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. in
Cincinnati. She is a project designer for a studio that specializes
in health care projects.
Johnson has a journeyman electrician's background, received
a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State
University, and recently passed the FE/EIT exam. Prior to
joining Sparling, he taught classes in microprocessor architecture
for the College of Engineering at NCSU. Johnson will work
on power system designs for industrial and military projects.

Monica Moravec
has been named associate at KPFF Consulting Engineers in Seattle.
Moravec is currently the project manager for the Sound Transit
Pine Street Stub Tunnel, which is under design. She has 24
years of engineering experience.
Moravec has a background in sanitary engineering process
design, stormwater conveyance and treatment in support of
major transportation projects for WSDOT and Sound Transit,
and development of projects from planning through construction.

Bellevue, Wash. homebuilder Quadrant Corp. recently announced
the promotions of Ken Krivanec
and Mark Gray to senior vice
president.
In their new positions, Krivanec and Gray will assume larger
roles in developing and executing Quadrant's overall business
strategy.
Krivanec previously served as vice president of sales and
marketing and will continue to oversee all sales and marketing
activities for the company. He has been with Quadrant for
four years and is responsible for focusing the company's branding
strategy and growing its sales three-fold during that period.
Gray previously served as vice president of production and
will continue to oversee all operational activities for Quadrant.
Gray has been with Quadrant for 13 years and during that time
engineered strong operational efficiencies in areas such as
construction and purchasing.

Tom Wilcox has recently joined
BERGER/ABAM Engineers Inc.'s Portland, Ore., office as a project
manager.
Wilcox has more than 14 years of civil engineering and construction
management experience on both public and private sector projects
in the water resource, transportation, communications, and
land development sectors. He has served as a design engineer,
project manager, and construction representative for sanitary
sewer, storm drain, and water system improvement projects.
His civil engineering experience includes street improvements,
residential and commercial land development, and design of
parks and recreational facilities. As a project manager, Wilcox
uses his extensive management experience to guide clients
successfully through all stages of projects, including analysis,
design, cost estimates, bidding, and construction.

Del Huntington has joined transportation
planning and traffic engineering firm Kittelson & Associates
Inc. as an associate planner in its Portland, Ore. office.
Huntington's 28 years of experience in access management
and multi-modal planning includes a decade with British Columbia's
Ministry of Transportation and, more recently, 18 years with
the Oregon Department of Transportation. Huntington led the
ODOT team that developed the state's guidelines on access
management, which are now being adopted by other states.

Todd Whipple, PE, has been
promoted to senior vice president and director of engineering
and architectural firm CLC Associates' Northwest operations
in Spokane, Wash. Whipple has been with CLC since 1999 when
CLC acquired the local firm of Inland Pacific Engineering
where Whipple had served since 1993. In his new role, Whipple
will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Northwest's
operations, including continuing his role as director of engineering.
Whipple is involved in many of the firm's key projects, most
recently providing transportation planning and design for
a fast-tracked six-mile arterial roadway. The roadway design
is part of a 675,000-sq.ft. retail center also being designed
by CLC Associates.

McLeskey Enterprises, a Ridgefield, Wash.- corporation encompassing
Cascade Container-Fab Co. and Cascon Transportation, recently
announced several staff additions and promotions.
Bob Dillon was promoted to
a top sales and service position for the southwest Washington
and Oregon regions. Dillon will work to expand the company's
base of private and public clients.
As the company's new sales representative for northwest
Washington territories, Jim Sanborn
will oversee sales and service for McLeskey's presence in
the Northwest.
Tony Jolly has been promoted
to production manager for the firm. He formerly served as
the company's truck shop supervisor.
Greg Claus has joined the
company to replace Jolly as the new truck shop supervisor.
He will oversee operations in the fabrication and manufacturing
of McLeskey's line of truck equipment products.

Lance Lum recently received
his Washington Civil Engineering Professional Engineer's license
and was promoted to project engineer at Reid Middleton in
Everett, Wash.
Over the last several years, Lum has worked on analysis
and design for various buildings for the U.S. Navy. He is
also involved in projects for the Port of Seattle at Fishermen's
Terminal and the City of Edmonds' mid-waterfront seawall and
pedestrian walkway project.

Jon Hagwood recently joined
Seattle's Lease Crutcher Lewis as a senior superintendent
with a focus on large commercial and institutional projects.
Hagwood brings 28 years of construction experience to the
firm. Some of his notable local projects include Seattle's
62-story Gateway Tower, Auburn's White River Amphitheatre,
and Building 26 at the Microsoft headquarters.
Ray Shea, a 28-year construction
professional, joins Lewis as a superintendent in the Special
Projects Division. Shea will focus on a new 30,000-sq.-ft.
medical office building in Lakewood, Wash.
