Jeanne Staton has become the
first woman to serve as president of the 1,200 member Oregon-Columbia
Associated General Contractors chapter in its 82 year history.
Staton is president of Staton Companies, a demolition contractor
based in Eugene.
Also named as officers for 2003 were Terry
Edgar, Perlo McCormcak Pacific, first vice president,
John Bollier, Stacy and Witbeck,
second vice president, Bob Schommer,
A C Schommer & Sons, secretary; and Fred
Williams of Perkins and Co., treasurer.
Richard Stevenson has-been
named president and chief operating officer of Seattle's Clise
Properties. A. M. Clise will continue to lead the company
as its chief executive officer and chairman of the board of
directors.
Developing and managing commercial real estate properties
in Seattle since 1980, Stevenson has more than 20 years experience
in real estate and property management. Stevenson attended
Gonzaga University in Spokane and is a graduate of the Evergreen
State College in Olympia.
Currently, Stevenson serves on the board of directors of
the Seattle Monorail Project, Downtown Seattle Association,
Downtown Emergency Services Center, Housing Resources Group,
and Building Owners & Managers Association (BOMA). He
is a BOMA past-president.
Sparling electrical engineering has promoted Kristy
Alley to associate and Joe Leger
to principal of technology consulting.
Alley directs market research and lead development for the
firm. Under her direction, Sparling's corporate identity program
received "Best of Show" in the Society of Marketing
Professional Services (SMPS) 2001 Marketing Communications
Awards.
Leger joined the firm in 1998 and will now lead marketing
and business development for the
technology studio. Leger is currently managing technology
consulting for Seattle Central Library, Denver Children's
Hospital, University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center,
Vancouver General Hospital, and U.S. Army Fort Lewis Battle
Simulation Center.
Judith Lorenzo and Sandra
Salisbury both of the Washington State Department of
Transportation, were recognized for their work on the Roadside
Classification Plan and Roadside Manual. The project received
the WSDOT Excellence in Roadside Resource Management and Maintenance
Award.
Ruji Ding, PE, has joined Brerger/Abam
Engineers Inc. as a Grade VI project engineer in the firm's
Seattle office. Ding brings more over nine years of professional
experience in civil engineering and permit applications. Ding
has. She received her bachelor's degree in civil engineering
from Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China; and a master's
degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Memphis,
Texas.
Amie Walton, PE, has been promoted
to Grade IV engineer with Berger/Abam. Walton is based in
the firm's Seattle office, and has been with the firm for
more than four years.
Eric A. Zimmerman, Vice President,
Bratrud Middleton Insurance, received the Puget Sound Area
Safety Summit Executive Award For Safety from among twenty-four
nominees. The award honors project managers, superintendents,
engineers, CEOs and other executives who have made it easy
for line supervisors to prevent accidents by showing their
leadership and support, setting good examples, or demanding
safety accountability.
Jim Hirte, founder and president
of Sherwood-based Colamette Construction, Inc., has been named
the Associated General Contractor's Chapter President of the
Year. Hirte is a graduate of Oregon State University, and
has spent his 30-year construction career in the Portland-Metro
area. He founded Colamette Construction in l979 and the company
has grown to annual billings of $25 million. This past January,
Colamette was awarded 3rd place in the construction category
in the Portland Daily Journal of Commerce's Profiles of Excellence
competition.
Robert A Carnevale has joined
DBM Contractors inc. as new business development manager.
Carnevale will be responsible for new business development
and will divide his time between headquarters office in Federal
Way, Wash and the California office in Gold River.
Carnevale brings eight years of experience in engineering,
estimating and marketing in Washington, Oregon and California
to his position. He most recently worked with Malcolm Drilling
Co., Inc. Carnevale earned his bachelor's and master's degrees
in engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy,
New York where he also worked as a research and teaching assistant.
Merritt+Pardini Architects recently hired Stan
Zintel as a principal of the firm. Stan is a licensed
architect, and has over 25 years' experience in programming,
master planning, and implementation of health care, institutional
and commercial projects. These projects include the 1 million
sq. ft. Veterans Administration Medical Center in Portland,
the Olympia Medical Center building in Olympia, the Providence
Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska, and the Bellevue Regional
Library.
Zintel's responsibilities in his new position in M+P's Seattle
office include management duties, and expanding M+P's presence
in a number of project areas.
Alex Protasevich has joined
Helix Architecture. Protasevich is a native of Minsk, Belarus.
His work has received international acclaim, including the
International Academy of Architecture Silver Medal awarded
at "InterArch 2000"World Triennial design competition
for his design of the Episcopal Church in Centerville, UT.
Since joining Helix, he has developed the design for all buildings
at the Port of Tacoma's new Pierce County Terminal and Portland
National Guard Fire Station.
Sparling COO Eric Overton has
been appointed to the Executive Board of the AIA Academy of
Architecture for Health, Washington-Oregon chapter, which
strives to improve the quality of the health care environment
through excellence in architecture.
Committed to improving the delivery of health care through
technology, Overton served on the American Society for Healthcare
Engineering (ASHE's) Planning, Design, and Construction Committee
for 4 years and currently sits on the AIA National Health
Care Guidelines Revisions Committee.
Candela Architectural Lighting Consultants recently added
Lauren MacLeod as a senior lighting
designer.
MacLeod brings 15 years experience in professional lighting
design and specialties
in the hospitality, airport, educational, corporate, and residential
markets.
She has taught architectural lighting design at University
of California, Los Angeles) and University of California,
Santa Barbara and has a degree in interior design from Arizona
State University.
