Slayden Construction (Stayton,
Ore.) has named name Todd Woodley
as president. Woodley, a graduate of Oregon State University,
has been with Slayden since 1991, and most recently served
as executive vice president. Prior to joining the firm he
worked as a consultant in capital planning, scheduling and
estimating for Pinnell Engineering, and as project manager
for Schneider Group in Pittsburgh, Pa.
In addition, Slayden has promoted Steve
Flett and Zack Secrest
has been promoted to project manager. Flett has been with
the company since 1995, as has Secrest.
Stone Equipment Company of
Honeoye NY has appointed Alan Thomas
district manager for Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington.
Thomas will also cover the Canadian provinces of Alberta,
British Columbia and Saskatchewan. He will be based in Kent,
Wash.

Northwest Chapter (Tigard) has named Lisa
Gallegos membership director. Most recently, Gallegos
served as ABC's apprenticeship specialist.
Jay Halleran and Steve
McConnell were made firm partners by NBBJ
(Seattle). In addition the firm has named three new principals,
16 senior associates and 24 associates.
Halleran is Director of NBBJ's in-house cost management group.
A 1979 graduate of the University of Washington Jay joined
NBBJ in 1980, where he has supervised the cost estimating
and value engineering on more than 1,000 projects.
McConnell came the firm in 1990 and has led key design and
planning for local, projects in the US and abroad. He is a
graduate of the Southern California Institute of Architecture
and holds certificates in mixed-use and courthouse design
from Harvard University.

Lorig Management Services (Seattle)
has hired Kevin Grossman to
head up the commercial leasing and overall property management
at Welch Plaza as well as working on special projects across
Lorig Management's portfolio of 1,800 apartments and 400,000
square feet of commercial space.
Grossman brings twenty years of experience in commercial
real estate and property management to the Lorig Management
Services team. Most recently a property manager for Integrated
Real Estate Services,
Grossman has also worked with investors and businesses in
making informed real estate decisions including Pinnacle WebWorkz,
Inc., Deutsche Bank and the Puget Sound Center. He is also
the Deputy Mayor of the City of Shoreline and a Trustee of
Shoreline Community College.
Tim Biddick has joined Pacific
Fire & Security (Seattle) as business development manager.
He brings more than eight years of experience in design and
installation as well as sales to his position.
Biddick is a member of the American Society for Industrial
Security (ASIS). He has managed design, installation and sales
for RFI Communications & Security Systems and SecurityLink
from Ameritech in the Portland area.
Mancong Lin, AIA has joined
Emick Howard & Seibert Inc.(Seattle)
as a project architect. Lin will work on a variety of financial
institution and corporate projects for the firm.
Lin is a licensed architect with 11 years of experience in
the Puget Sound area. She has completed a wide-range of projects
including commercial, industrial, multi-family residential,
and healthcare.
She has been involved in all aspects of project management
and design including programming, planning, design, and construction
documentation, and construction administration. Previously,
Lin worked at GGLO, TRA, and YNA and Associates.
Lin earned a Master of Architecture degree from the University
of Washington and a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Qinghua
University in Beijing, China.
Candela, Architectural Lighting Consultants
(Seattle), has promoted Mary Claire
Frazier, IALD, LC to firm principal.
With 18 years experience as a lighting consultant, designer,
and instructor and degrees in architecture and psychology,
Frazier will join Candela principal Denise Fong in managing
and marketing the firm.
Since joining Candela in 1996, she has developed innovative,
award-winning designs for
projects such as Experience Music Project and Auburn and Issaquah
libraries.and marketing the firm.
David S. West has been named
principal partner in the commercial general contracting firm
of Gray Purcell, Inc. (Tigard).
West most recently headed his own contracting firm, WestHill
Contractors Corp.
Outside of work he serves as second-term president of the
Sandy Area Chamber of Commerce, and as at-large-board-member
of the Sandy Historical Society.
Merritt+Pardini Architects
(Seattle) recently hired Maria Resende
to work on the firm's Tacoma Convention and Trade Center project.
Resende is a licensed architect in both New York and Washington,
with 10 years' experience on educational, institutional, hospitality,
commercial and residential projects.
Her project experience includes the Tulalip Casino and the
Microsoft Millennium Office Park in Washington, the Smart
Money Magazine Offices in New York, and the Hotel Cheyenne
Complex in France.
Tejal Mehta has joined Lorig
Associates (Seattle) as assistant project manager working
on a new apartment-style residence hall for Seattle Pacific
University, as well as a housing project on Market Street,
near the University of Washington Tacoma Campus.
With more than eight years of project management experience,
Mehta has a diverse project portfolio with emphasis in multi-family
housing, urban design and historic preservation.
She earned her bachelor's of architecture at the University
of Oklahoma and master's in architecture at the University
of Washington College of Architecture and Urban Planning.
Mehta also serves as a board member on the Pioneer Square
Preservation Board representing architectural interests.
LMN Architects (Seattle) has
promoted Sam Miller principal.
Miller has served as project manager for the firm's Seattle
Central Library project and is an accredited LEED professional.
