ZGF Architects Adds Nine to Design Team

James Elmer will draw on his 38 years of experience in the construction industry.

ZGF Architects LLP has added 9 new employees to support its project portfolio. Todd Stine has returned to ZGF as a technical design principal. He will play a lead role on select projects and oversee technical design quality on all projects in the Seattle office. Bertha Martinez, AIA, has returned to ZGF as an associate partner and senior project manager where she is working on the Washington State University Global Animal Health project. Masaru Haruyama, AIA, has also returned to ZGF as associate partner and project designer and is currently working on the Seattle Children’s Hospital Expansion. Eric Ritchey, AIA, has returned as a Senior project architect where he is working on the Nintendo of America Headquarters Office Building and the University of Washington Molecular Engineering Building. In addition, Gabriel Hanson, Huyen Hoang and Whitney Hall have joined the architectural group.

Golder Associates has hired Mark Liebman in the firm’s Redmond office. Liebman will head the company’s new forensic building science practice area. He has 20 years of experience conducting forensic investigations utilizing geophysical techniques and non-destructive testing methods. Alec Liebman will assist him as a staff forensic investigator.

Kleinfelder added Jeanne Niemer, PE, GE to the firm’s Portland office as the new geotechnical group manager. Niemer earned her Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. She has 26 years of engineering and project management experience. Her areas of expertise include health care facilities, high-rise structures, commercial development and wind energy facilities, as well as slope stability and seismic design. At Kleinfelder, Neimer will be responsible for business development, project management and leadership of the geotechnical group.

The Seattle Chapter of the American Institute of Architects announced the recipients of the AIA Seattle Honors awarded for their achievement in championing outstanding design in the city and region. Those honored were: AIA Seattle Medal of Honor, David Miller FAIA + Robert Hull FAIA, The MillerHull Partnership; Community Service Award, Henry Hardnett FAIA; Allied Organization Award, Pike Place Market Public Development Authority; Young Architect Award, Bradley Khouri AIA, b9 Architects.
