Apartments Ready/AIA Award/Kiewit Opens Division
Apartments offer options in a hot condo market, especially in downtown Seattle.
Lake Union Apartments Ready for New Tenants
Seattle – The Neptune Apartments, designed by Weber + Thompson, is now complete. The 234-unit residential project was built by WG Clark Construction, Inc., of Seattle.
“We delayed the project during a market downturn,” said Matt Segrest, senior vice president of Simpson Housing, the project owner. The company hopes to take advantage of the shortage of rental housing in the downtown area.
The project is located a block from the planned South Lake Union Park. The 12-acre, $20 million park will be a regional destination that celebrates the cultural, industrial and maritime heritage of the city and region.
Apartments at the Neptune range from studios to two bedrooms plus dens. Leasing rates start at $1,031 for a studio, from $1,127 for a one-bedroom unit and from $1,875 for a two-bedroom unit.

Search Capability Finds Documents Immediately
Seattle - Contractors can find documents instantly in www.dexterchaney.com Dex-ter + Chaney’s Forefront™ Construction Suite using a Google-like search capability in its Document Imaging module. Users can locate individual documents in their entire Forefront file system by entering any word or group of words. Forefront finds those words and lists each document that contains them, displayed by relevancy, and provides a link to open each one.
The key to Forefront Document Imaging’s instant-search capability is that information is already available and indexed in Forefront prior to a user’s search request. As an ongoing process, documents scanned into the Forefront database are automatically processed by optical character recognition (OCR) software that converts the scanned images to readable text. The text is then processed and indexed for searches using Microsoft’s SQL Server Full-Text search capability. This allows users to search by any word or combination of words contained in the documents.
Users can enter simple searches, such as “Highway 101 overpass drawings,” and quickly find all documents that contain this text. Advanced search options, such as “look for the exact phrase” and “exclude document with the words,” are also possible. The search encompasses TIF images, PDF files, Microsoft Office documents and other formats. |
