St. Clare Expansion In Final Phases
Lakewood The $4.7 million expansion of St. Clare Hospital is scheduled for completion next month as the project's final phase focuses on the remodel of the existing emergency department.
Work on the first part of the expansion began in August of 2003 with the construction of a 4,500-sq.-ft., one-story addition on the west side of the emergency department. That expansion created a new emergency department with 13 treatment rooms that encircle a central nursing station.
The new department was occupied in April and remodel work began on the original emergency department. When complete, the department will be nearly twice the size of the original space with a total of 25 treatment stations.
Mahlum Architects of Seattle is the project's architect, and Sellen Construction of Seattle is the general contractor.
