SD Deacon Establishes Remediation Division

Portland - General contractor SD Deacon has formed a new division within the company - Deacon Repair and Restoration - that will provide construction and consulting services to address the complex problems associated with water intrusion, mold damage, lead paint, construction defects, fire damage, removal of hazardous materials or buildings in need of seismic upgrades.

While SD Deacon has worked on repair and restoration projects for more than 15 years, the formation of Deacon Repair and Restoration reflects the contractor's interest in this area of specialization, its knowledge of state and local regulations, and proven ability to provide successful solutions for building owners. In Oregon alone, SD Deacon has recently completed repair work for Wild Oats in Gresham, Lower Umpqua Hospital in Reedsport, Verandas at Hazel Grove in Hillsboro, Benson High School in Portland and Farmington Square Residential Facility in Tualatin.

The division's growth is triggered by the emergence of problems in buildings constructed 10 to 20 years ago, said Bill Townsend, president of SD Deacon Enterprises, Inc. and head of the new Oregon division.
