YGH Leading Design of Culinary Project

Portland - Architectural firm Yost Grube Hall was recently selected to lead the design team for the new Western Culinary Institute project here. The locally based international cooking school plans to lease about 60,000 sq. ft. of space in the Galleria, a historic downtown Portland landmark, which will help consolidate the institute's downtown operations under one roof.

The institute will use around 35,000 sq. ft. of space on the fifth floor of the building for kitchen and classroom space, 18,000 sq. ft. on the fourth floor for additional classroom space, and somewhere between 7,000 and 8,000 sq. ft. on the ground floor for three eateries.

Selected to provide mechanical, electrical and plumbing design services are MEP Consulting of Portland and HK Electrical Engineering of Sherwood, Ore.
