Ranking Oregon, Washington and Alaska Top Specialty Contractors Ranking Revenues Hit an All-Time High

Revenues for speciality contractors in the Northwest peaked out as construction hit an all-time high for the region. Next year is a different story.

Top Specialty Contractor’s revenue hit an all time high in 2o08, with the top ten contractors reporting $1.9 billion in revenue over $1.79 billion in 07. McKinstry Co., a Seattle based mechanical contractor topped the list with $386 million last year compared to $338 million in 2007. In last year’s rankings J.H. Kelly topped the list at $390 million. In 2008, its revenues dropped considerably to $235 million.

  • Other major companies took advantage of the last push of the Northwest’s building boom. Apollo dropped down to $122 million from $174 million in 2007. Holaday Parks went from $106 million in 2007 to $156 million in 2008; and MacDonald Miller Facilities Solutions went from $135 million in 2007 to $152 million in 2008.

    Money was easier to acquire in 2008 and in 2009 contractors are seeing the tightest bidding in years.
