Apartments Rising at Wonderbread Bakery Site

Seattle - When the Wonderbread factory closed several years ago, residents worried about two things. Would the economically depressed neighborhood survive the loss of living wage jobs? And what would happen to the red Wonderbread sign that stood as a landmark for over 50 years?

The sign will return to the site. As for the jobs, the clear choice for developers was to build Legacy at Pratt Park, a six-story, mixed-use, market-rate apartment project. Owned by Legacy Partners, Seattle and built by its construction arm, the $30 million building consists of 246 residential units, 7,000 sq ft of retail space and 369 below grade parking stalls. Fronting directly on a large city park, the project features a spectacular rooftop deck. Community amenities include a state of the art fitness center, a fully equipped business center, a community party room for resident events and a landscaped courtyard with gated access.

Some ground-level units will enjoy private stoops and patios on the central courtyard and pedestrian plaza. Over 70% of the units will feature balconies and decks, including some upper level units with private terraces.
