In June 1956, President Dwight D. Eisen
hower signed legislation that would help shape a nation. The
Federal-Aid Highway Act of 1956 paved the way for the creation
of the interstate highway system - a vision that today connects
people nationwide via a 42,795-mi. network of roads.
