STEP Nearing Completion

When Sea-Tac's South Terminal Expansion Project completes next year, airport visitors will see a brand new Concourse A and a new international arrivals greeting space.

STEP will finish up in phases, said Deanna Zachrisson, Port spokesperson, with new ticket counters opening in April 2004 and an office tower, arrivals hall and concourse to follow by June.

Sea-Tac Airport's former Concourse A was the smallest of the concourses with only seven gates. When it was demolished in late 2000, it made way for a wider, longer concourse with twice as many gates. The 70-foot-high arrivals hall will stunning views of Mt. Rainier. The new concourse also will feature moving walkways, public meeting space, new restaurants and retail concessions.
