Portland NAWIC Names 2003 Drafting/CAD Winners
The Portland chapter of the National Association of Women
in Construction honored winners of the 2003 competition at
the Sabin Skill Center in Milwaukie, on May 8.
Students compete by providing design solutions to a generic
problem developed by a

licensed architect or engineer. This year the design problem
was the "Walker home," a house for a family of five
in an older neighborhood Drawings may be submitted in the
category of "Hand Drafting" or the category of "CAD
Drafting." Portland entries were submitted in the CAD
category.
A committee of industry professionals performed judging, and
the winners are first place: David Sohnaloff, Second place,
David Snow and Third place, Daniel Yoon.
First place winner Sohnaloff will go on to compete in the
nine-state Western regional NAWIC competition, where the winner
will advance to the national finals.
Chairperson of the competition was Sherri McCurdy, of Phillip
McCurdy Architects.
