The Museum of Glass, the Tacoma Convention Center, an old train terminal turned Federal Courthouse, the Washington State History Museum and the new Tacoma Art Museum are the civic projects that started the trend that is bringing new life to downtown Tacoma.
Now the gateway to the city is an inviting place for residents and visitors. Projects in the planning stages include a farmer's market, retail and office space in the original Tacoma Art Museum building and a new research facility for the University of Washington.
